The Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Francesco La Camera, emphasized the importance of international efforts to achieve a global transition to clean energy.
During the events of the COP29 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, La Camera pointed out that the conference represents a golden opportunity to intensify efforts towards achieving these goals.
La Camera praised the pioneering role of the Emirati company "Masdar" in the global renewable energy sector in a statement to "Al-Ain News," noting that the agency collaborates with "Masdar" within its financial platform, which brings together various entities to support sustainable energy investments.
La Camera pointed out that "Masdar" has been one of the first companies active in the field of renewable energy for over two decades, saying: "If I remember correctly, Masdar is present in more than 44 countries around the world and invests in various renewable energy projects."
He explained that these efforts position "Masdar" among the key pillars in achieving the global transition to clean energy, amidst the endeavors to create a future where renewable energy can contribute significantly.
With the increasing global environmental challenges, the importance of cooperation between institutions and companies in driving the renewable energy sector comes to the forefront. Thus, COP29 serves as a crucial platform to strengthen this cooperation, aiming to achieve a world that relies more on clean energy and actively addresses the impacts of climate change.
