At the conclusion of the COP29 conference, Azerbaijan’s Social and Ecological Center “EkoSfera” hosted an event that focused on the urgent calls from children and youth to protect the planet and the environment, according to Firuza Sultan-zade, the head of the center.
The Azerbaijani "Report" agency shared footage of the solidarity vigil titled "Save the Planet."
Sultan-zade emphasized that COP29 provided a unique platform for amplifying children's voices through various artistic and scientific events organized during the conference.
She noted that EkoSfera is dedicated to presenting the ideas of children and youth to the international community as the event draws to a close.
Sultan-zade said, "Our children, particularly in the Blue Zone of COP29, addressed adults and stakeholders, emphasizing the crucial importance of preserving nature."
Additionally, she noted that the event showcased the creative potential of children in addressing climate change issues.
“By ensuring children’s participation in this conference, we are making their voices heard on a global scale and contributing to building a better world for future generations,” she added.
